Located at the intersection of 13th St. & D St. in SouthEast, the Mary O’Neill Rush Memorial Rink at Watkins Elementary School will be used for tournament play.
It measures approximately 100ft x 75ft and appears to have at one time been a tennis court. The poles have been removed, and wooden boards were built (and then rebuilt) around the perimiter by a group of local residents, creating the District’s only outdoor public hockey rink.
Fragers Hardware Store (on 11th and Pennsylvania Ave SE) generously donated 90% of the materials used to rebuild the rink, including all the plywood and paint. We would like to thank them for their continued support. Need some DIY advice? Head to Fragers.
